I stort sett alla jag pratat med som f\u00f6respr\u00e5kar en repressiv narkotikapolitik anv\u00e4nder begreppet ”haschpsykos” som exempel p\u00e5 varf\u00f6r man inte kan till\u00e5ta cannabis-baserade preparat. Men existerar verkligen haschpsykosen? Jag letade upp ett par artiklar fr\u00e5n vad jag anser vara n\u00e5gorlunda frist\u00e5ende forskargrupper (Centralf\u00f6rbundet f\u00f6r alkohol- och narkotikaupplysning (CAN<\/a>) och Cannabisera.se<\/a> anser jag exempelvis inte vara tillr\u00e4ckligt fria fr\u00e5n sina respektive agenda).<\/p>\n

Australiensiska National Drug & Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC)<\/a> som \u00e4r baserad p\u00e5 University of New South Wales anser inte det:<\/p>\n

The prediction of the hypothesis that cannabis causes psychosis was not supported by the data on trends in the incidence of psychosis. There was no evidence that there has been an increase in the incidence of psychosis over the past thirty years of the magnitude predicted by the hypothesis. This suggests that cannabis use does not cause cases of psychosis that would not otherwise have occurred. Available evidence does not strongly support an important causal relation between cannabis use by young people and psychosocial harm, but cannot exclude the possibility that such a relation exists. The lack of evidence of robust causal relations prevents the attribution of public health detriments to illicit drug use. In view of the extent of illicit drug use, better evidence is needed. Forskare i psykiatri fr\u00e5n King’s College i London, publicerade i The British Journal of Psychiatry:<\/p>\n

Very few heavy cannabis users (3%) went on to develop schizophrenia, suggesting that cannabis use may increase the risk for schizophrenia only among individuals already vulnerable to developing psychosis. Den sista artikeln antyder att cannabis kan vara en bidragande orsak till psykos, om andra tyngre v\u00e4gande orsaker ocks\u00e5 \u00e4r n\u00e4rvarande. De klarl\u00e4gger dock inte orsakssambandet. Korrelation implicerar inte n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndigtvis kausalitet.<\/p>\n
